Joy Mcminn

Joy Dian Pflueger McMinn of Lake Wales, FL departed this life Monday, May 15, 2017.  She was born September 8, 1951 to Gladys and Emmett Pflueger in Orange, Texas.

Greeting her in heaven is her beloved husband Charles, her dear brother Jon and her parents Gladys and Emmett.

She spent most of her childhood moving around as her father was in the Navy which meant, for the Pflueger family, moving every 2-4 years.  She lived in San Diego for 30 years after her father retired from the Navy, then, at the age of 40, God brought her and Charles McMinn together.  On May 12, 1992 she married Charles and moved to Wynne, Arkansas to be with him.  She loved Charles and was happiest when being right next to him whether they were cooking, gardening, doing yard work, driving down the road or shopping for groceries.  Charles was the man of her dreams.

Wynne, Arkansas became her home and she loved her home in Wynne.  She loved her flowers and gladly accepted new ‘starts’, even if she had to find a place to plant them.  Then in 2016 she made another new ‘start’ by moving to Lake Wales, Florida with her long-time friend, Stan Romanoff.  Even though her time at Water’s Edge was short she made many friends and was happiest when she could turn those friends into family.

Hers was a Christian life well lived, enjoying family, friends, pets and always with a smile on her face looking on the bright and cheerful side of life.

Memorial services will be held at Water’s Edge of Lake Wales on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM.  Internment will be in Wynne, Arkansas
