FROSTPROOF--Joy McCollough, 85, of Frostproof died of heart failure Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at her residence.
Born July 28, 1921 in Tampa; she came here from Orlando 36 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Frostproof. She was a member of the Eastern Star; past president of the Frostproof Woman’s Club; and a Girl Scout leader. She loved to cook, sew, and entertain.
Mrs. McCollough was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Ross Bryant, and her 2nd husband, John Rountree. Survivors include her husband, Clyde E. McCollough of Frostproof; daughters, Sandra Mathews of Jacksonville Beach; Kathene Ward of Orlando; sons, Ross Bryant of Jacksonville Beach; Johnny Rountree of Orlando; Robert McCollough of Frostproof; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and long time friend, Georgia Perry of Frostproof.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 26, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church in Frostproof with Rev. David Trimmier officiating. Interment will be held at Hillview Cemetery in Chicora, Pennsylvania.
