Joseph J. "Joe" Robbins

Joseph J. "Joe" Robbins of Winter Haven passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Life Care facility in Winter Haven.

He was born May 31, 1929 in Cortland, NY to the late Delos and Christa (Alley) Robbins; and came to this area from Fulton, NY in 1994. He was a retired claims adjuster for Kemper Insurance, was of the Episcopalian faith, and a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Army for 21 years. Joe was a member and former Vice-President of the Winter Haven Horseshoe Club, he was inducted into the Florida National Horseshoe Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was an avid sports fan, watching baseball, football, and basketball.

Survivors include his daughters, Sandra M. Robbins of Des Moines, IA, Terri Pfohl of Lafayette, NY, Jaylyn Quattrapani of Central Square, NY, and Kriss McGuire of Manlius, NY; brother, Stoyell M. Robbins of Melbourne, FL; companion, Barbara Mapes of Winter Haven, FL; and several grandchildren.

Memorial services are to be scheduled.
