Joseph L. "Joe" Newkoop

Joseph L. "Joe" Newkoop of Lake Wales passed away Friday, December 25, 2009.

Born December 5, 1948 in Miami to the late John Newkoop & Frances Rainer Newkoop; he came here 10 years ago from Lakeland. He was a chief operator at Mosaic for 29 years, a member of the Cleveland Heights Baptist Church in Lakeland, and served in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra K. Newkoop; daughters, Taunia (Mike) Sebright of Bartow and Brittany (Bobby) Lang of Lake Wales; sons, Joseph "Joe Joe" (Lisa) Newkoop Jr. of Lakeland, Jason (Melissa) Newkoop of Knoxville, TN and Mark (Lori) Walton of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Jerry Newkoop of St. Pete, Peggy Florence of Clearwater; Judy Buntin of Lake Panasofkee and Marie Leath of Davenport; brothers, John Newkoop of Tampa and David Newkoop of St. Pete; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery.
