Joseph A. “Joe” Ellis of Frostproof, Florida passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.  He was born April 30, 1958 in Florida.  He was a lifelong resident of the area.  He was a former diesel and refrigeration mechanic for Thermo King as well as many other transportation companies.  Joe loved teaching the trade along with building and doing things with his hands.

He is preceded in death by his father A. B. Ellis Jr, and his mother Elizabeth Kedney Ellis both of Frostproof.

Survivors include his daughter Farrah Ellis Ruskin of Lake Wales, FL, sisters Mary Ellis Ivey of Frostproof, FL, and Cynthia Threlfall of Lincoln Park, Michigan, 4 grandchildren Rebecca, Gunnar, Harley, and Benjamin, 1 great grandchild Sebastian, two nieces Jennifer and Tiffany, and two nephews Thomas and Daniel.

A memorial service will be scheduled the date is to be announced.
