FROSTPROOF -- Mr. Jorge Medina of Frostproof died of cancer Thursday (Jan. 5, 2006) at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. He was 66.

Born in Monte Ray, Mexico, on April 23, 1939, he came to Frostproof from Brownsville, Texas, 30 years ago. He retired from Crumbly Brothers. He was an Army veteran.

Mr. Medina is survived by his wife, Rita Medina; daughters, Sabina Floyd, Bishopville, S.C., Nina Medina, Lake Wales, Mercedes Medina, Christina Medina, both of Frostproof; sons, Adalberto Medina, Frostproof, Cirilo Medina, Camden, N.J.; mother, Jesusita Medina, Harlington, Texas; brother, Mike Medina, Brownsville; eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
