Jon Philip Wood, 56

Jon Philip Wood of Lake Hamilton, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home from diabetic complications.

He was born July 13, 1963 in Fairmont, Minnesota, to Philip and Mary Wood of Fairmont, Minnesota. Jon was baptized on December 16, 1973 at First Baptist Church in Winnebago, Minnesota. Jon graduated from Granada-Huntley High School in 1981 where he participated in football, wrestling, band, and 4-H. He moved to Lake Hamilton from Minnesota in 1985. Jon was a printer for Printing Corporation and worked weekends at Ford Chrysler. He also worked for a pest control company and Winn-Dixie Grocery Store. Jon was a jack of all trades. He was a godly man and had a giving heart. He put everyone before himself.

Jon is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheila Wood; daughter, Megan Wood of Winter Haven; sons, Jared Wood and wife Kirstin of Winter Haven, and Damon Hunt and wife Michelle of Winter Haven; parents, Philip and Mary Wood of Fairmont, Minnesota; sisters, Holly Kotewa of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Ann Schultz and husband Bob of Ham Lake, Minnesota; brother, Paul Wood and wife Amy of Winnebago, Minnesota; and grandchildren, Devin Hunt, Aayden LaLonde, AJ Wood, Shalynn Hunt, and Destani Hunt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jon is proceeded in death by his grandparents.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
