Johnny Flynn Ervin

Johnny Flynn Ervin of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.

He was born June 4, 1930 in Rossville, GA to the late Claude Crawford & Mary Ottie Lee (Parrish) Ervin; he moved to Frostproof from Avon Park in 1982. He was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam, and retired after 30 years from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant Radar Technician. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Frostproof for the last 18 years.

Johnny was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Flynn Ervin, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Billie Sue Ervin; daughter, Elaina Brennan of Abilene, TX; sons, Greg Ervin of St. Cloud, James Ervin of Cameron, NC and Timothy Ervin of Orlando; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until the funeral service at 3:00pm, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will be held 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
