Johnny Douglas, Sr.

Johnny “Papa John” Douglas, Sr. of Winter Haven passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

He was born September 7, 1956 in Douglas, GA to the late Joseph & Betty Jean Douglas; and he came to Polk County as a child. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cody Evan Douglas; and a brother, Ronnie Douglas. Survivors include his daughters, Katie Pearce and husband, Chris of Lake Wales and Ashton Douglas of Lake Wales; sons, Johnny Douglas, Jr and wife, Angel of Auburndale and Dillon Douglas, U.S. Army and wife, Kendra stationed in Ft. Lewis, WA; step sons, David Sawyers of Winter Haven, Casey Luecke and wife, Jennifer of Auburndale; sisters, Connie Davis of Georgia and Bonnie Harrell of Georgia; brothers, Tommy Douglas of Georgia, Donnie “Dino” Douglas of Lake Wales, Lonnie Douglas of Jacksonville, Jimmy Douglas of Georgia, Billy Douglas of Georgia, Thomas Douglas of Georgia and Lauren Douglas of Georgia; and 11 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
