Johnnie Melvin Shull, Sr.

Johnnie Melvin “Butch” Shull, Sr. passed away at his residence on October 4, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on April 16, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio.

Johnnie worked as a truck driver. He was also a member of Impact Church. In his free time, he loved woodworking, fishing, hunting, and restoring old cars. He was known for his great sense of humor and for the joy he found in telling jokes, bringing laughter to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Shull; his mother, Fannie Shaffer; and his wife, Ellamae, who was the love of his life. Johnnie leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his son, Johnnie Shull, Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Bartow; and his son, James Shull, of Lake Wales; and his daughter, Jonell Gatz, and her husband, Steven. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexis, Cody, Gavin, Wade, Micah, Mariah, and John Wesley; as well as his six great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2026 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Mr. Wesley Holcomb officiating.
