John Wesley Whitlock

John Wesley Whitlock Sr, 88 of Lake Wales, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

He was born on September 19, 1929 in Newville, Alabama to the late Albert and Mary Magdalene (Richardson) Whitlock and he has been a resident of this area since 1967 moving here from Princess Anne, Maryland.  He was a self-employed Carpenter/Mechanic. John loved to fish, crab and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his sons; sons, Albert Lee Whitlock of Princess Anne, Maryland;  the late Johnny Whitlock, Jr. of Berlin, Maryland, Roy Dale Whitlock of Princess Anne, Maryland, Jeff Cook of Frostproof, FL, Waylon Deatherage of Sebring, FL, daughters, Deana Lynn Melton of Hebron, Maryland; Teresa Gayle Whitlock of Princess Anne, Maryland; his late brothers, Henry Whitlock of Brandon, Florida, Albert Whitlock of Winter Haven, Norman Whitlock of Lake Wales, Curtis "Sam" Whitlock; sisters, Myrna Bennett of Lake Wales, Peggy "Patricia" Carothers of Babson Park, Florida; his late sisters, Anna Laura Cullier, Bonnie Yarborough, and Kathleen Bennett; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; caregiver/friend, Crystal Allen of Lake Wales.
