JOHN D. “JACK” SULLIVAN, 83
John D. “Jack” Sullivan of Caroga Lake, NY passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.
Born November 15, 1924 in Pittsfield, MA; he has been a winter residence of Lake Wales and Winter Haven for the past 16 years coming from New York. He was in discount retail for 49 years, a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Post #8, loved to play golf and was very active with the Saddlebag Men’s Club and Saddlebag Golfers.
Jack was preceded in death by his son, Daniel James Sullivan. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Margaret H. Sullivan; daughter, Jody Diane (husband-Steven) Quirie of Winter Haven; sons, Kevin Palmer (wife-Lori) Sullivan of Batavia, NY and Thomas Patrick (wife-Renee) Sullivan of Omaha, NB; daughter-in-law, Lisa Sullivan of Caroga Lake, NY; and 8 grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the American Legion Post #8 or the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
