BABSON PARK--John Dennis Stanley Sr. of Babson Park died of heart failure Monday, November 27, 2006 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was 54.

Born January 01, 1952 in Lake Wales; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a manager for MidState Energy and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. He was part of the propane gas industry for over 28 years, a past-president of the Polk County LP Gas Association and a member of the Florida Propane Gas Association. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, traveling and Gator football. He loved his children and his family very much.

Survivors include his wife, Linda J. Wright-Stanley of Babson Park; step-daughters, Jennifer Wright, Maegan Wright and Kaleigh Wright all of Babson Park; daughter, Cori Stanley of Lake Wales; sons, John D. Stanley Jr. of Tampa; Karl Stanley of Lake Wales; Zachary Stanley of Babson Park; brothers, Phillip Stanley of Charlotte, NC; Steven Stanley of Brandon; Tom Stanley of Frostproof; sisters, Charlotte Gonzalez of Winter Haven; Jane Stanley of Tampa; Carrie Stanley of Altamonte Springs; and one granddaughter, Samantha Stanley of Lake Wales. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Peggy Stanley.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 06, 2006 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Father Thomas C. Seitz Jr. officiating. For those who wish, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
