John Thomas Smith, Sr.

John Thomas Smith Sr., 72, of Lake Wales, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.
Born February 24, 1946 in Ravenna, OH to the late James Gordon and Ollie Mae (Jordan) Smith, he moved to Lake Wales in
1965 from Madison, FL. He worked as a truck driver for Oakley Transport and served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was
of the Pentecostal Faith.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Jean Smith; children, Carrie Lyn Smith James and her husband Ricky of Lake Wales,
John Michael Smith and his wife Kristina of Sumter, SC and John Thomas Smith, II; brother James David Smith of CA and 3
grandchildren, Arnold, Brooke, and Coby.
The family will receive friends at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales on Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with
a graveside service to follow at 11:30 at Lake Wales Cemetery.
