John G. Outland

John G. Outland of Lake Wales passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at his residence.

He was born August 4, 1938 in Mattoon, IL to the late Wayne & Martha (Glathart) Outland; and was a retired chef from the New York and New Jersey area before moving to here in the late 1960's. He and his wife are the owners/operators of Goin' Postal in Winter Haven. He was a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed canoeing, fishing, cooking and was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and FSU.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy J. Outland; daughters, Kathi & Ray Thompson of Robstown, TX, Lynda & Chisom Mills of Mathis, TX and Dolly & Brian Morgan of Corpus Christi, TX; sons, John M. & Wendy Outland of Palm Bay, Paul & Debbi Scanlan of Lake Wales and Kevin Lavender of Holly Hill; sisters, Nancy Barnes of Raleigh, NC and Ellen Dembo of Hialeah; and 13 grandchildren.

A private family remembrance will be held.
