LAKE WALES -- Mr. John Robert "Bobby" Mixon of Lake Wales died of cancer Saturday (July 1, 2006) at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was 48.

Born Dec. 12, 1957, in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Mixon grew up in Lake Wales. He returned to Lake Wales from Palm Beach this year. He worked as a waiter for Ruth's Chris Steak House, Palm Beach. He was Baptist.

Mr. Mixon is survived by his mother, Willie L. Coker, Lake Wales; brothers, Randall E. "Randy" Nelson, Lake Charles, La., James E. "Eddie" Mixon, Las Vegas, Nev., Brian Mixon, Lake Wales; sister, M. Anita Mixon, Palm Beach Gardens; companion, Peter Temple, Niceville.
