John A. R. Martocci

John A. R. Martocci of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Dove Health Care.

He was born December 10, 1918 in Hartford, CT to the late Rocco & Winifred (DePalma) Martocci; he came here in 1977 from Wethersfield, CT. He was a owner/operator of a retail liquor store in Wethersfield, CT, a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Lake Wales Country Club, Lake Wales Elk's Lodge, Lake Wales V.F.W. and American Legion Post #8 in Winter Haven. He was a supporter of the Visiting Nurses Association in Hartfort, CT and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Sell Martocci. Survivors include his cousins, Marie Robson and Nick Robson of CT, many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, October 05, 2009 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales with Father Anthony Bluett officiating. Inurnment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd., N.W., Winter Haven, FL 33881.
