John Thurston Henry, Jr. of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at his residence.

He was born February 16, 1935 in Lenoir, North Carolina to the late John and Alice Henry; he moved to Lake Wales from The Keys 22 years ago. John was a retired transportation supervisor and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He loved motorcycles and was a member of the Hot Rod Club “Central Florida Street Rod Association”. He enjoyed flying gas planes as a hobby.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Gail Henry in 2016; and son, William Gordon Henry in 2019. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Wilson (Ronnie) of Hudson, North Carolina; son, John David Henry (Donna) of Lenoir, North Carolina; step-daughter, Jacque Citrino (Frank) of Tampa; step-son, Jeff Woodall (Wilma); several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and his cat, Buddy.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
