John G. "Greg" Brantley of Frostproof passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at his residence.
He was born November 17, 1970 in Lake Wales, Florida to Johnny and Mary Lou (Manley) Brantley; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed by Polk County School Board for 15 years, graduate of Frostproof High School class of 1989, 1993 graduate of Warner Southern College. He was an Awana leader for the past 13 years, co-founded the Federation of Christian Sportsmen, member of the Citrus Ridge Long Beard Chapter affiliated with the National Wild Turkey Federation, was an avid hunter and outdoors man. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend; a life time member of First Baptist Church of Frostproof and a devoted Christian witness to others.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Alice Arthur Brantley; parents, Johnny & Mary Lou Brantley of Frostproof; sister, Leslie & husband, Frank Robarts; brother, Clay & wife, Julie Brantley; nieces, Kasie Robarts, Jordan Brantley and Alex Weese; great-niece, Hayzlee Weese; nephews, Tyler Robarts, Allen Weese, Jake Arthur, Jaxon Arthur and Hunter Brantley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 and the funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood and Rev. Seth Polk officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
