John Larry Byrd, 72

John Larry Byrd of Frostproof passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his residence.

He was born November 28, 1948 in Frostproof to the late John and Mary Byrd. John was a retired Agriculture Inspector and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Frostproof. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his friends. He was a Florida Gator and Frostproof Football fan. Overall, he loved spending time with his grandkids.

John was preceded in death by his wife Paula Byrd in 2019; and sisters, Betty Jo Johnson, Mary Robinson, and Annette Reed. He is survived by daughter, Ashley Castillo (Gilberto) of Frostproof; son, Robby Byrd of Frostproof; sister, Shirley Childs of Live Oak; brothers, Charles Ray Byrd of Leesburg, and Neal Byrd of Frostproof; grandchildren, Chandler, Collin, Hannah, and Jordan; and great-grandson, James Clayton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof with Rev. Mike Arms officiating.
