John Randolph “Randy” Bryan, Jr., 84
John Randolph “Randy” Bryan, Jr. of Orlando and Haines City went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the George C. Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale surrounded by his family.
He was born March 28, 1939 in Tallahassee to the late John and Catherine Bryan, Sr. and was a fourth generation Floridian. Randy grew up in Orlando and graduated from Edgewater High School in 1957. He met the love of his life, Karen during his 50 years of employment at Hammond Electronic Company, who he later married on July 26, 1969. The newlyweds lived in Ocoee for the first year of their marriage before moving to Orlando, where they lived until Karen’s passing in 2019.
Randy was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an active member of Azalea Park Methodist Church in Orlando for over 45 years until he moved to Haines City in 2019, where he then attended NorthRidge Church. Randy enjoyed traveling and attending sporting events, especially those of his grandsons when they were young. He was a fan of the Miami Dolphins, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Randy was known to his family and friends as Chief, a nickname given to him by his family. He was a follower of Christ and was always showing Christ’s love to others. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Randy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Lynn Bryan in December of 2019; and nephew, David Bryan. He is survived by his children, Daniel Bryan and wife Melody of Vero Beach, Joni Robertson of Tampa and Jason Bryan and wife Rebecca of Haines City; brother, Timothy “Tim” Bryan of Orlando; grandchildren, Ryan Robertson of Richmond, Virginia, Danielle Barker and husband Tom of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, Jacob Bryan and wife Hannah of Haines City, Ross Bryan and wife Chelsey of Lake Wales; great-grandchildren, Genevieve Barker, Josie Bryan and John Bryan; nephew, Kevin Bryan of Orlando; best friends Bud and Patti McMillan of Orlando; and many other close friends.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the memorial service at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 15, 2023 at NorthRidge Church in Haines City.
