Joe "Jody" Ellis

Joe “Jody” Ellis, 82 of Frostproof passed away, Sunday, September 27, 2015 at The Grove Center.

He was born on March 22, 1933 in Boaz, Alabama to the late Clarence and Bertha (Hammock) Ellis. He has been a resident of the area since 1955 coming from Alabama. He was a retired Insulation Installer for Watkins Engineering. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in Korea. He enjoyed wood working, golfing and was a volunteer for the Frostproof care center. He was of the First Assembly of God faith.

He is preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Deanie Ellis of Frostproof, FL, daughter Beverly Smaw and husband Avery of Jacksonville, FL, son Joey Ellis and wife Bridgette of Frostproof, FL, brothers Donald Ellis of Winter Haven, FL, Arvis Ellis of Frostproof, FL, Davis Ellis of Frostproof, FL, Glen Ray Ellis of York, PA., 7 grandchildren Jared, Jodi, Dustin, Brandon, Ashley, Whitney, Stephanie, 9 great grandchildren Keonne, Kingston, Kash, Addison, Brynnlee, Lauren, Nathan, Caleb and Ben.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Family Life Church with Rev. Kelly Galati officiating. Visitation will be held 2:00 PM until service time. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
