Joan Pleines

Joan Pleines of Fedhaven, FL passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Somers Hospice House in Sebring after a battle with lung cancer.

She was born April 21, 1940 in Relay, MD to the late Charles Alexander Banks Sr. & Theora Banks. She moved to Florida in 1989, originally residing in Winter Haven and moved to Fedhaven 12 years ago. She was a freelance photographer and writer who once owned an art gallery in Baltimore, Maryland. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Cochran of Frederick, MD; step-daughter, Eileen
Lee of Severna Park, MD; former son-in-law, Robert Cochran Jr. of New Market, MD; step-sons, Richard Pleines of Conowingo, MD and Gene Pleines of Fawn Grove, PA; sister, Kathy Fisher of Ellicott City, MD; and a brother, Charles “Chuck” Banks of Frostproof. She also leaves behind many dear friends in Florida as well as Maryland.
