Joan D. Collins

Joan D. Collins of Frostproof passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born December 31, 1931 in Bronx, New York to the late Vincent James & Christina (Avallone) DeFeo; she was a resident of Frostproof for a total of 25 years except for 10 years she lived in North Carolina. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof. She enjoyed playing on the piano, crocheting and had the gift of gab.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, William Michael Collins; two sisters, Diana Andren of New York and Ceclia Cascione of Massachusetts; and two brothers, Michael DeFeo and Matthew DeFeo both of Pennsylvania.

Memorial service will be held 5:00 pm, Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating.
