Joan Valerie Baxley

Joan Valerie Baxley of Dundee passed away Friday, December 25, 2009 at her residence.

She was born July 24, 1942 in Crestview, Florida to the late James and Daisy (Sparks) Halcombe; and came to Polk County from Tampa 30 years ago. She was retired from Ben Hill Griffin, Inc. and was a member of The Pentecostals of Lake Wales. She enjoyed watching her soap operas and C.S.I. on TV.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Tony T. Baxley, and son, Timothy Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Ann Jones of Dundee; sons, Samuel Jones of Lake City and James R. Jones of Lake Wales; a half-sister, Jeannie of North Carolina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are to be scheduled at a later date.
