Jimmy W. Scearce of Winter Haven passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Dove Heath Care in Lake Wales due to cancer.

Born November 07, 1938 in Martinsville, VA; he came to the central Florida area 18 years ago from Richmond, VA. He was a retired Regional Sales Manager for Sears & Roebuck, and later worked for Bassett Bedding in Lake Wales. He was a member of The Solid Rock Church in Winter Haven and was an avid auto enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Sharron Scearce of Winter Haven; daughters, Tammy Gelber and Elizabeth Brown both of Richmond, VA; son, Phillip R. Scearce of Lakeland; step-son, Derek Joseph Hohmann of Lake Wales; brother, Tom Scearce of Roanoke, VA; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 5:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2008 at The Solid Rock Church meeting at the Covington Presbyterian Church, 1410 Dundee Road, Winter Haven.
