Jimmie Carolyn Earnhart

Jimmie Carolyn Earnhart, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, she was born on March 29, 1935 in Arkansas. The daughter of Loran and Mildred Barnes, she was the oldest of two siblings.

In 1956, Jimmie married the love of her life, Harold Dewayne Earnhart. They had three children and celebrated 52 years together before he preceded her in death in 2008. They were also preceded in death by their eldest daughter, Janis Earnhart, in 1997.

A devout Christian, Jimmie loved to teach children’s Sunday school at Golfview Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales. She also reached out to children in the community with the Good News van by sharing Bible stories and connecting them with the church. She was known for her generous heart in everything she did, from living her faith to being the best mother three siblings could ever have.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan Earnhart of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Greg Edwards of Frostproof, Fl; her brother and sister-in-law, Loran “Buddy” and Pat Barnes of Hoxie, AR; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Matthew Earnhart; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Her body will be cremated and a private service will be held at her home in Frostproof, FL with her family. In lieu of flowers, friends and family can donate to Golfview Baptist Church of Lake Wales, or to Good Shepherd Hospice of Polk County, FL.
