Jim Roy

Jim Roy of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa.

Jim was born November 17, 1948 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Reney and Evelyn (Paquette) Roy; and came to Lake Wales 18 years ago. He was a carpenter, a member of the Church of Christ and V.F.W., and a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He loved sports and his grandchildren, the Wii, fast cars, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughters, Leah Franz of Michigan, Marla Nunley of Michigan; son, Marc McArthur; sister, Geraldine Caster of Ohio; grandchildren, Joseph Nunley, Jr., Austen Terry, Mileva Nunley, and Brennan Zink.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 5, 2010 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM.
