FROSTPROOF--Jewel Frances Lockard of Frostproof, Florida died of heart failure Wednesday (Nov. 01, 2006) at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. She was 83.

Born August 13, 1923 in Geneva County, AL; she has been a resident of Frostproof for 50 years. She was a retired palletizer for Citrus World. She was a member of the Assembly of God church in Frostproof.

Survivors include her sons, Julius James Lockard of Port Royal, VA; David L. Lockard of Sebring; daughters, Laverne Kelly of Midland City, AL; Linda Lavender of Lake Wales; sisters, Katie R. Register of Graceville; Montez Oliver of Slocomb, AL; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, November 03, 2006 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 04, 2006 at the funeral home with Rev. James B. Wood and Rev. Wayne Lee officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
