Jerry Miller

April 14, 1936 — January 28, 2010

Jerry Miller of Lake Wales, FL passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, FL.

He was born April 14, 1936 in Burlington, Vermont to the late Ernest G. & Gertrude Elaine (Lebeau) Miller; he came here 8 months ago from Inverness, FL where he lived from 2002 until 2009. He was a retired mechanical engineer for General Electric and B.F. Goodrich and was of the Catholic faith. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel #6391 in Inverness, FL and the Addison County Eagles-Arie 3801. During his 35 years of umpiring he was the Vermont State Commissioner for ASA Softball and the State Umpire in Chief. He was also the rules interpreter and clinician for Vermont High Schools and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Jerry was preceded in death by his two sons, Michael & Arthur Miller and first wife, Patricia Miller. Survivors include his wife, Janice Marie Miller; and two grandchildren.
