Jerry H. Jones

Frostproof: Jerry H. Jones, 69, passed away of heart failure on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born August 5, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama. He came to Frostproof in 1975 from Homestead.

He was the retired owner/operator of Jones Auto Service in Frostproof, and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Assembly where he assisted with the music for services. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, family times and was always willing to help a friend in need.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Lee Jones Slatky and is survived by his wife Linda Jones of Frostproof; sons, John W. Jones of Okeechobee, Rick Jones of Frostproof, Tom Jones and Brian Jones both of Albertville, Alabama; a sister, Janice Culver of Atlanta, Georgia and brother Clifton Wayne Jones of Punta Gorda, Florida: 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, January 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with services Tuesday, January 27 at 4:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home chapel in Frostproof with Rev. Thelma Gandy and Rev. Wren Collins officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
