Jerry Robert Gorton

Jerry Robert “Mike” Gorton, 72 of Frostproof, Florida passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on November 3, 1943 in Belview, New York to the late Phillip and Veva (Bickford) Gorton and he has been a resident of this area for 11 years moving here from Hilton, New York. He was a retired Purchaser/ Security Guard for Delco Products.  Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Air Force and was a member of the First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Baker; brother, William Gorton; sisters, Phyllis Wilt and Susan Hayes

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Barbara Gorton; daughters, Sandra Rose of Hamlin, NY, Terry Baker of Webster, NY, Debbie Christiano (Gary) of Fairport, NY; sons, Dan Baker (Susan) of Greece, NY, Darrin Baker (Brenda) of Penfield, NY; sisters, Patricia DeVelder of Frostproof, Cheryl Steier (James) of Alexander Bay, NY, Linda Gorton, Lillian Breemes; brothers, Thomas Gorton of Sebring, Jack Gorton of Sebring, David Race, Donald Race of LeRoy, NY, Danny “Bucky” Race (Pearl) of Sackett Harbor, NY; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 6:00PM Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Frostproof.

Funeral services will be held at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc. in Hilton, New York.
