Jeanne Peyton Jones, 90

Jeanne Peyton Jones of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

She was born May 22, 1933 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Harry and Letiticia Peyton; she moved to Lake Wales from Crown Point, Indiana 44 years ago. Jeanne was a realtor and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, William Jones, Jr. in 2004; sons, Brian Gable, Eric Gable, and Davey Jones; and brothers. She is survived by her children, Scott Gable and wife Kathie of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Steven Gable and wife Elva of Demotte, Indiana, Terri Evans and husband David of Winter Haven, Robyn Prater and husband Tim of Lake Wales, Deidre Hamm and husband Dave of Lowell, Indiana, and Elaine Jones partner Ellory of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor can be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).
