Jean Collins Luther, 71, of Winter Haven passed away Friday, March 7, 2008 at her daughter’s residence in Winter Haven.

Born October 25, 1936 in Randolph County, AL; she came here from Randolph County in 1954. She was an accounting clerk in the citrus industry and a member of the Parkland Baptist Church in Winter Haven. She loved to sing in the choir, gardening and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Collins. Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Skipper of Winter Haven; Vicki and husband, Frank, Suits of Winter Haven; son, Robert and wife, Lynn, Collins of Eagle Lake; brothers, Jimmie Lee Brown of Waverly; Walter Brown of Alabama; sister, Esther Wright of Alabama; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Suits, Laurel Skipper, Lyle Skipper, Hannah Rivers, Robbie Anderson, Miranda Collins, and Marissa Collins; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Parker.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Parkland Baptist Church, 1800 8th Street SE, Winter Haven with Pastor Jim McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
