Jean E. Hurr

Jean E. Hurr of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born November 16, 1926 in Ottumwa, IA to the late Jesse & Agnes Menzie; she moved here following her husband’s military retirement in 1972. She was a homemaker and enjoyed yard sales, antiquing and golfing.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hurr. Survivors include her daughters, Jill and her husband, Steve Keen of Lake Wales, Linda and her husband, Michael Edwards of Flower Mound, TX and Judy Hurr of Columbus, OH; son, Jack and his wife, Barbara Hurr of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lake Wales Care Center or the Lake Wales Library.
