Janice J. Troutman, born on August 11, 1946, in Frostproof, Florida, passed away on December 20, 2025, at Winter Haven Hospital. She was a cherished member of her community and a dedicated bookkeeper for Ben Hill Griffin, Inc., as well as serving in the administrative office for the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales for 30 years.
Janice's heart and soul belonged to her church, where she made a lasting impact and found joy in her service. She took pride in her earlier years as an honor student and cheerleader. Outside of work, she loved going to the beach, though she was known to burn easily. Janice also enjoyed her time in the mountains, appreciating the beauty and tranquility they offered.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Palice Jenkins. She is survived by her beloved husband, Preston Troutman, with whom she shared 41 wonderful years. Janice is also survived by her daughters, Cynthia Matteson and her husband Byron of Lake Wales, and Tiffany Charney and her husband Lt. Col. Gary Charney of Pace, as well as her son, Baxter Troutman of Winter Haven. Her grandchildren, Grady Matteson, Jacob Matteson, Emily Matteson, Baxter Troutman, Holly Troutman, Preston Charney, and Eleanor Charney, will fondly remember her love and guidance.
