Janice Jenkins Troutman

Janice J. Troutman, born on August 11, 1946, in Frostproof, Florida, passed away on December 20, 2025, at Winter Haven Hospital. She was a cherished member of her community and a dedicated accountant for Ben Hill Griffin, Inc. as well as serving as the financial secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales for over 30 years.

Janice's heart and soul belonged to her church, where she made a lasting impact and found joy in her service. She took pride in her earlier years as a Frostproof High School honor student and varsity cheerleader. Outside of her work, she loved going to the beach, though she was known to sunburn easily. Janice also enjoyed her time in the North Carolina mountains, appreciating their beauty and majesty that they impart.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Palice Jenkins. She is survived by her beloved husband, Preston Troutman, with whom she shared 42 wonderful years. Janice is also survived by her step-daughter, Cynthia Matteson and her husband Byron of Lake Wales, daughter Tiffany Charney and her husband Lt. Col. Gary Charney of Pace, as well as her step-son Baxter Troutman of Winter Haven. Her grandchildren, Gray Matteson, Jacob Matteson, Emily Matteson, Holly Kate Troutman, Preston Charney, and Eleanor Bea Charney, will fondly remember her love and grace.

A celebration of life memorial service to honor Janice will be held on January 24, 2026, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in lake Wales at 5:00 PM.
