Jane "Grams" Poppell

Jane “Grams” Poppell, 77, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Advent Health of Lake Wales.

She was born August 15, 1944, in Lakeland, Florida to the late Edwin and Susie Walker and she has been a resident of Lake Wales since 1993. She was a retired Administrative Secretary for the Polk County School Board. Jane was a graduate of Kathleen High School, a member of Southside Baptist Church of Jacksonville and First Baptist Church of Lake Wales. Jane loved to travel, going to the beach and especially cruising. She cherished spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Buddy Poppell; daughters, Tina Poppell Mathewson and husband Tony of Lake Wales; Shelly Poppell Wilson of Lake Wales; 6 grandchildren, Taasha Kauth (Jeff), Trey Mathewson (Courtney Boynton), Tanner Mathewson (Angelina), Tate Mathewson (Kaley Hinds), Courtney McDonough (Kyle), Noah Wilson and 7 great grandchildren, Chase Boynton , Ryder Boynton, Korbin Kauth, Kierce Kauth, Kinsley Kauth, Ariel McDonough, Merrick Mathewson.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Lake Wales with Dr. Scott Markley and Rev. Barry Hooten officiating.
