James Russell Turner, 95

James Russell Turner of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Lakeland Hospice House.

He was born November 19, 1924 in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Ercie Turner; he came here from Kentucky in 1993. James was a farmer and of the Protestant faith. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving for two years, then retired from the Air Force after serving for 21 years.

James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lupita Turner; sisters, Mildred McIntosh of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sharon Haygary of Oklahoma; and brother, Jesse Turner and wife Niada of Paris, Kentucky, Charles Turner of Cleveland Ohio, and Kenny Turner of Cleveland, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Marion Nelson Funeral in Lake Wales.
