James C. Scott, 79, of Frostproof passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 in Avon Park.
James was born July 28, 1937 in Dothan, Alabama to the late James Otis and Mary E. (Enfinger) Scott. He was a truck driver and mechanic in the citrus industry and was a member of the Assembly of God in Frostproof. He was also an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Scott and a son, John Matthew Scott. Survivors include his son, Timothy Scott of Avon Park; daughters, Teka Scruggs and her husband, Billy of Frostproof and Charlotte Scott of Perry; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1st at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2nd at Silver Hill Cemetery with Pastor James B. Wood officiating.
