James Clinton Port

March 13, 1942 — February 2, 2022

James Clinton Port, 79

James Clinton Port of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on February 2, 2022. He was born on March 13, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late John and Ella Mae Port. James loved the Lord and faithfully served Him and cared for others all of his life. He served as an Elder and was a member of Greystone Presbyterian Church, Covenant Life Church, and Crossings Church, all in Oklahoma. James most recently attended Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, Florida. After becoming an Eagle Scout, he continued as scout leader with the Boy Scouts. James gladly served his country for two years in the Army. He combined his love of cycling and care for others to raise funds for the MS Society. Many lives were touched as he shared wisdom, hospitality and fellowship through Bible studies, small groups and marriage mentorship with his wife Tricia. Their hearts and home have always been open to those in need.

James was truly devoted to his wife of 56 years, Patricia Enz Port. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Heather Heminger and husband Doug of Winter Haven, Heidi Port of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister Crystal McGee DePue and husband Dale, his brothers John Port and wife Mary, and Jay Port and wife Jenna, all of Edmond, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Schlinke and husband Bennett. James ("Grandad") loved his grandchildren Carissa, Chloe and husband Roger, and Cianna so much that he and Tricia ("Mumsie") chose to move closer to them eight years ago.

Although our hearts are grieving, we find joy in knowing that James is now home with his Heavenly Father.

Memorial Services will be held at Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, Florida on March 12 at 11:00 am and at First Presbyterian Church Edmond, Oklahoma on April 9, also at 11:00 am.
