James R. "Big Daddy" Nobles

James R. "Big Daddy" Nobles of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Bartow Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 2, 1941 in Lake Wales to the late Robert Daniel & Minnie Lee (King) Nobles; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired mechanic from Haines City Citrus Growers, a member of the Wayside Baptist Church and a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the Lake Wales Moose Lodge, Lake Wales Elks and V.F.W. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, BBQ and spending time with his family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Nobles and a brother, Billy Doyle Nobles. Survivors include his daughter, Stacey Nobles Seay (Fiancé, Joseph Dunbar) of Winter Haven; two grandchildren, Kayla Waltz and Connor Seay; and one great-grandchild, Ryder Waltz.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
