James William Hoy, 92

James William Hoy of Lake Wales passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at Life Care Center of Winter Haven.

He was born November 15, 1931 in Millersburg, Pennsylvania to the late John and Addie Hoy; he moved to Lake Wales from his hometown 20 years ago. James was a retired supervisor and served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and shooing pool. James was an outdoorsman and loved doing anything outside, especially fishing, hunting, and boating. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, the American Legion of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, the Lake Wales VFW, and the Moose Lodge of Lake Wales.

James is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice Faye Hoy; daughter, Patricia Leigh Hoy of Pennsylvania; son, Curtis James Hoy and wife Tina of Pennsylvania; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
