James D. Higgins of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Vitas Hospice Unit in Lake Wales.

He was born November 19, 1947 in Terre Haute, IN to the late James and Frieda Higgins; he came to Florida in 1997 and moved to Frostproof 6 years ago. He was a retired machine operator and member of the 7 ^th Day Adventist Church. He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Navy. He liked to fish and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Higgins; daughters, Tracy Higgins of Terre Haute, IN and Sheri Sachse of Aumsville, OR; son, Scott Higgins (Lynnette) of Wilmington, NC; brothers, Ralph Higgins, Terry Higgins and Darrell Higgins all of Terre Haute, IN; and three grandchildren, Alyth, Jacob and Chris (Morlan).
