James Roger Collins, Sr.

James Roger Collins Sr. born in Lake Wales September 9th, 1939 on Weaver Street passed away with family keeping vigil, praying nearby and abroad on December 5th, 2021. At 14 he and his brother Lewis walked down the aisle and accepted the Lord as their Savior on the same day. He served in the Coast Guard for 21 years and the USPS for 25. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice; CHILDREN: Elizabeth (Patrick) Sisson, James (Penepole) Collins and Jason (Allison) Collins; GRANDCHILDEN: Ashley (Josh) Alexander, Beto (Elaine) França, Tony (Samantha) França, Rachel Sisson, Whit Collins, and Ellee Bea Collins; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Emma Alexander, Abigail Alexander, Michael França, Nicole França, Thomas França, and Isaac França; SIBLINGS: Ronald (Ginnie) Collins, Annette (Carlos) Des Roches, Helen Platt, and Buddy (Mary) Platt. He was preceeded in death by his parents PeaTroy Collins and Ola Vee Platt, siblings Lewis Collins and Linda Collins and grandsons Evan and Andrew Sisson.

Funeral Services will be held online Friday December 10th at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Central Avenue Bapist Church of Lake Wales.
