James "Buddy" E. Mcclelland, Sr.

James "Buddy" McClelland of Frostproof passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Florida Hospital in Sebring.

He was born May 13, 1934 in Frostproof to the late James and Bessie (Beasley) McClelland; and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Buddy was a retired Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Frostproof, was of the Baptist faith, and a veteran of Korea, serving in the United States Air Force. He was a three time past Master and longtime secretary for the Masonic Lodge of Frostproof, and member of the Eastern Star of Frostproof, Egypt Temple Shrine and Order of the Knights Templar, and former member and past President of the Frostproof Senior High School Band Boosters.

Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen McClelland. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy L. McAulay (Hugh) of Frostproof; son, James "Buddy" E. McClelland, Jr. (Rosa Bianca) of Sarasota; sister, Bobbie Beasley of Frostproof; two grandchildren, Molly Rivas and Kellie Hall; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof, with Rev. Kelly Galati officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Cryptic Mason Medical Research Foundation (P.O. Box 1489, Nashville, IN47448-1489).
