LAKE WALES -- Mr. James David Allen of Lake Wales died of cancer Sunday (July 23, 2006) at home. He was 53.

Born in Lake Wales on Dec. 27, 1952, he was a lifelong resident. He was a retired truck driver for Hunt Brothers Inc. He attended Working Together with Jesus Ministry in Lakeland.

Mr. Allen is survived by his mother, Lollie Lock, Lake Wales; stepfather, Leland Black, Columbia, S.C.; brother, Donald R. Allen, Lake Wales; sisters, Marilyn Diane Trueblood, Lexington, S.C., Cathy Allen, Florida.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.
