Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Zahora, born on April 5, 1954, in Port Jervis, New York, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 13, 2026.
She was a dedicated medical transcriber who spent her career with care and attention to detail. Jackie moved to Lake Wales from Fort Lauderdale seven years ago, where she continued to enjoy her hobbies and interests. She loved caring for her animals and crocheting. Jackie enjoyed her time spent with her son watching Miami Dolphin games and playing Bingo. She was well known as an advocate for the Rainbow Bridge, showing her deep compassion for animals throughout her life.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zahora; her brother, John Berthiaume; and her parents, John and Beatrice Berthiaume. She is survived by her loving children: Sarah Jackinsky and her husband Merrick of Alaska, Lori Zahora of New York, Brandon Zahora and his wife Mandi of Lake Wales, and Jesse Zahora of New York. Jackie embraced her role as a grandmother with great joy, leaving behind cherished grandchildren Zachary, Chester, Demitri, Alexis, Ariana, Joshua, Maryssa, and a baby boy soon to be born.
