Jack G. Morrison

Jack Morrison of Lake Wales passed away Friday, December 04, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born April 22, 1923 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Emuel and Hazel (Gaynon) Morrison; came here from Miami in 1985. He was the owner/operator of Miller Truck Equipment, a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Miami, a Deacon of University Baptist Church in Coral Gables and enjoyed making stained glass art.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joyce Morrison; daughter, Linda Girten (Dale) of Woodbridge, VA; son, Tom Morrison(Pat) of Miami; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris, Amy and Russell; 2 great-grandchildren, Kayla and Alyssa; sister, Peggy Abbott of Lake Mary.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 08, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Markley and Rev. Barry Hooten officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales.
