LAKE WALES--Irene Gandy Smith, 75, of Lake Wales passed away October 12, 2007 at her home.
Born December 28, 1931 in Eustis, FL; she came to Lake Wales from Tallahassee in 1967. She was a homemaker and was a member of the New Harvest Worship Center.
Irene was preceded by her husband, Everett C. Smith; son, Everett C. Smith Jr.; daughter, Patty Ann Montgomery; brothers, Edward Gandy & Monroe Gandy; parents, Edward Eugene & Alvie Irene Gandy; and two grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Irene Bradley of Lake Wales; Donna Jean Suazo of Lake Wales; sons, M. Gene Smith of Lake Wales; Donald R. Smith of Lake Wales; sister, Joyce Chavis of Umatilla; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, October 15, 2007 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales with Rev. Steve Livingston and Rev. John Cannon officiating. Family will be receiving friends from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Interment will follow the service at Lake Wales Cemetery.
