Hugh "Rex" Batchelor

Hugh R. “Rex” Batchelor, 87 of Waverly, Florida passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his daughter’s residence due to Cancer.

He was born November 11, 1926 in Covington, Georgia to the late Louis R. and Estelle (Merritt) Batchelor and has been a resident of the area since 1960 moving here from Lake Wales. He was a retired Automotive Machinist for Mulberry Motor Parts. Hugh was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy and was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Kitty Faye Batchelor; daughter, Beverly Ann (Jim) Slaughter of Bartow; son, Louis R.(Sandra) Batchelor of Winter Haven, “Buck” Batchelor of Lakeland, Kenny Batchelor of Jackson, GA; sister, Brenda Harper of Jackson, GA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. David Durham officiating.
Family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
